The Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC) for Optimal Ageing will train a workforce that is skilled in the development, translation and implementation of digital and robotic systems to optimise cognitive, physical and mental wellbeing in middle-aged and older adults.

ABOUT US

We are jointly funded by the Australian Research Council, Monash University, Federation University and industry partners

We facilitate strategic partnerships between research organisations, local government, and industry partners to deliver economic benefits to enable people to live enriched, healthy and independent lives as they age

Our research expertise is in the areas of cognitive health, mental health, health services, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and robotics

Through industry-based projects, our graduate researchers will provide their technical expertise, creative problem solving and scientific insights to help our industry partners develop tools and strategies for optimal ageing

RESEARCH THEMES

The ITTC for Optimal Ageing comprises an integrated research program encompassing three themes

Enhancing Cognition


Promote engagement in adaptive behaviours (physical activity, sleep, mentally stimulating activities) that preserve cognitive function in adults as they age.

Promoting Independence


Develop solutions that increase confidence and ability to maintain independence in the community.

Sustaining Connectedness


Working with the latest technologies to create a sense of community and reduce social isolation.
