I am Irushi, a PhD researcher focused on the co-design and prototyping of a digital wellbeing platform for older workers. My research addresses the growing need to better support the ageing workforce. Older workers often face distinct challenges, including age-related health changes, increased caring responsibilities, evolving workplace technologies, and age-related bias. Despite their experience and value, existing workplace wellbeing initiatives and digital tools are rarely designed with their specific needs, preferences, and capabilities in mind.
Through participatory co-design, I aim to explore how digital technologies can be shaped with older workers to meaningfully enhance their wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability at work. The project aims to create practical, accessible, and empowering digital solutions that support healthy, fulfilling working lives as people age.
